In 1720 the Jesuit missionary Clemente Guillén, accompanied by Spanish soldiers and Indian allies, set out from the Loreto area down the Gulf coast on the first overland expedition to La Paz passing through a rugged land that he called the Guaycura Nation in the Californias.

This unique documentary gives us vivid glimpses of this little known part of Baja California Sur, Mexico, taking us to visit the rock shelters of the Guaycuras, the missions of Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores and San Luis Gonzaga that served them, and to see something of the traditional rancho life that can still be found today.
